North Cascades National Park has its passport cancellation stamp at the North Cascades Visitor Center in Newhalem, located along the North Cascades Highway (State Route 20). There is also a ranger station at the Wilderness Information Center in Marblemount for backcountry permit holders.
A missing national park cancellation from North Cascades is very common because most of the park is roadless wilderness — Highway 20 passes through the Ross Lake and Lake Chelan National Recreation Areas rather than the national park proper. Many visitors drive the highway to scenic pullouts and Diablo Lake overlook without stopping in Newhalem. The visitor center is closed from October through April when the highway closes for winter, and the entire park section south of the highway is only accessible by trail or boat.
